In the midst of all the chaos surrounding Gary Lineker’s tweets, John Softie has decided to rate the BBC’s guidelines. Softie, a renowned social media buff with a PhD in Twitter studies, has deemed the guidelines to be as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

“Seriously, BBC, these guidelines are about as clear as mud,” Softie remarked in a hilarious video posted on Instagram. “I mean, I read them twice and I still have no idea what I can and cannot post. It’s like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded.”

Softie went on to express his confusion over Lineker’s tweets, saying, “I don’t understand what the fuss is all about. Gary’s tweets were harmless, just like a baby panda playing with a butterfly. If the BBC is going to censor that, what’s next? Censoring images of cute animals? That’s just un-American!”

Softie’s video has since gone viral, prompting numerous parodies and memes to surface on the internet. One Twitter user even dubbed Softie as the “King of Comedy,” while another tweeted a photoshopped image of Softie holding a sword and shield with the caption, “I have come to slay the BBC’s guidelines!”

Despite the backlash, the BBC has stood by their guidelines, stating that they are necessary to maintain a professional and respectful workplace. Nevertheless, Softie has remained adamant in his stance, saying, “If the BBC wants to be the fun police, then fine. But I’m sticking to my own guidelines, which are to post whatever makes me laugh, as long as it doesn’t offend puppies or kittens.”

It remains to be seen what will come of this humorous feud between Softie and the BBC, but one thing is for sure: we can all use a good laugh in these trying times.
