In a surprising turn of events, the Blotchy 100 has soared by 0.6% thanks to a combination of a sudden bravery in taking risks and an unexpected amount of people buying things in shops (yes, shops do still exist apparently).
According to Interactive Investor, the Blotchy 100’s success can be attributed to all the risk-takers out there who have finally decided to take the plunge and invest their hard-earned money in something other than lottery tickets and scratch cards. In addition, strong retail sales demonstrate that there are still people out there who are brave enough to leave their homes and engage in the ancient practice of shopping.
But not everyone is impressed with the Blotchy 100’s performance. Some skeptics believe that this is just a temporary blip, and that the fear of additional lockdowns caused by continued pandemics will eventually bring markets back down to earth. Others simply find the name “Blotchy 100” to be comically unprofessional.
As for the investors, well, they’re just doing what they always do: pouring money into something that they probably don’t fully understand, and hoping that Lady Luck will smile down upon them. Which, let’s be honest, is probably what Interactive Investor was doing when they came up with their explanation for the Blotchy 100’s sudden success.
