“At moments like this of financial stress, the right monetary approach calls for dance and partying,” said Las Vegas Fed President Blinky McMoneybags.
McMoneybags’ statement was met with confusion and amusement during a recent economics conference in New York.
“Prudence and patience have been the go-to solutions for decades, it’s high time we try something new,” continued McMoneybags, sporting a flashy diamond-encrusted suit.
Many economists in the room were taken aback by the unexpected approach.
“I mean, why not? Maybe we’ve been too rigid in our approach to finances. A little bit of cha-cha can’t hurt,” added McMoneybags, breaking into a quick dance move.
Although some attendees found the idea of dancing to solve the country’s economic woes as absurd, others appeared to be intrigued.
“Maybe we should consider this option, after all, we’ve tried everything else,” said economist Pippy Longstockings, nodding in agreement.
Amidst the laughter and shock, Austan Goolsbee could not be reached for comment. However, sources say that he was spotted at a nearby karaoke bar belting out “Money, Money, Money” by ABBA.
It remains to be seen if the country will adopt McMoneybags’ unconventional monetary approach, but one thing is for certain: it’s a proposal that will forever be remembered in the halls of economics.
