In a heartwarming display of parental love, Mr. and Mrs. Ivanov have been tirelessly advocating for the release of their son, Evanovich Gershkov, from detention in Russia. The Russian émigré couple raised their son to appreciate his culture and heritage, but it seems like they never prepared him for a run-in with the law in Mother Russia.

According to sources close to the family, Mr. and Mrs. Ivanov are staunchly convinced that their son is innocent and have submitted numerous letters and petitions to the Kremlin demanding Evanovich’s release. They reportedly even flew to Moscow to meet with Russian officials and present their case in person, but to no avail.

The situation has become so dire that Mr. and Mrs. Ivanov have resorted to staging a protest in front of the Russian embassy in New York City. They have been seen standing outside with signs that read “Free Evanovich” and “Justice for our son”. The couple has also been inviting Russian chefs to come and cook borscht for them on site, in the hopes of garnering more attention and support for their cause.

When asked for a comment on the situation, Evanovich simply stated, “My parents mean well, but honestly, they’re just being embarrassing at this point. I’ll be fine in here for a while, I’m learning some really cool new phrases in Russian.”

It remains to be seen whether the Ivanov’s efforts will pay off in the end, but one thing is for sure – they love their son more than vodka and caviar combined.
