Local man “Gunny McShootface” had a bit of a fascination with firearms and the armed forces, according to those who knew him in high school.

Although he never joined the military himself, Gunny McShootface loved to talk about it and show off his guns at any opportunity.

“He was always going on and on about guns,” said former classmate “Sally Smith.” “He even brought a shotgun to school one time for show-and-tell.”

Another classmate, “John Johnson,” remembers how Gunny McShootface would always try to recruit others to his cause.

“He was constantly trying to get me to join the army,” John said. “I think he wanted me to be his own personal soldier or something.”

Despite his eccentricities, Gunny McShootface was a beloved member of the community.

“He was always a little odd, but in a lovable way,” said Sally. “I think he just really loved his guns.”

Gunny McShootface passed away earlier this year, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
