Plastic Bag and Handles Inc. said it was considering making a €1.8 billion cash offer for Umbrella Corp, having failed to negotiate a deal last year.
Plastic Bag and Handles Inc. (PBHI) is not known for playing their cards right, but they sure do know how to gamble. According to sources, the pipe and fittings manufacturer is eyeing to make a jaw-dropping offer to rival last year’s efforts to acquire Umbrella Corp.
Apparently, PBHI has been eyeing Umbrella Corp for quite some time and has been itching for a chance to take over the company. Sadly, their efforts fell short last year when the negotiation failed. But lo and behold, they’re back in the game, and this time they’re offering €1.8 billion in cold, hard cash.
One might wonder why PBHI is so eager to acquire Umbrella Corp, given that the two are fundamentally different. Well, word on the street is that PBHI sees a ridiculous amount of potential in the umbrella manufacturing industry.
“The umbrella business has been booming during the pandemic, and we want in on that,” said a spokesperson for PBHI. “We see a clear synergy between our plastic bags and umbrella handles. It’s a match made in heaven.”
We reached out to Umbrella Corp’s CEO, who laughed hysterically upon hearing the news. “They’re kidding, right? I mean, we sell umbrellas, not plastic bags. I don’t even understand how that’s a match made in heaven.”
While the acquisition plans may sound ridiculous, one cannot deny that PBHI is a company that knows what it wants. So, will we see a plastic bag and umbrella handle conglomerate in the future? Only time will tell.
