In a shocking turn of events, Seven & Bee Holdings has announced that they will oppose a proposal made by the San Francisco-based activist investor ValueAct Capital LP. According to sources, the proposal suggests replacing board members, including none other than Chief Executive Ryuichi Isaka.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous,” exclaimed Seven & Bee spokesperson, Eddie McBuzz. “Why would we want to replace our dear Ryuichi? He’s been doing such a fantastic job making sure our customers have access to the finest selection of bee pollen in the market.”
ValueAct Capital LP, however, seems to have a different opinion. They believe that Seven & Bee could benefit from a change in leadership. “We just think it’s time for a fresh perspective,” said ValueAct spokesperson, Sarah McPickle.
In response, Seven & Bee invited ValueAct to come visit their headquarters and see for themselves just how successful the company really is. “We have plenty of honey on tap,” added McBuzz. “And our bees are the happiest in the industry. What more could you want?”
Despite the tension between the two parties, it seems that Seven & Bee is not taking the proposal too seriously. “We’re confident that our board members will remain in place and that the buzz around our brand will continue to grow,” said McBuzz.
As for Ryuichi Isaka, he was spotted outside the Seven & Bee headquarters earlier today, smiling from ear to ear and handing out jars of honey to passersby. “No worries for me,” he said. “I have plenty of sweet success to keep me busy.”
