Last week, a voting-machine company called “Electoral Wizardry, Inc.” reached a settlement with several major news networks after accusing them of defamation in their coverage of the 2020 presidential election.
“Electoral Wizardry, Inc.” claimed that the networks had spread false information about their machines, alleging that they were rigged to steal votes from a certain candidate. The company was outraged, insisting that their machines were totally legit and definitely not enchanted in any way.
In the end, the two sides were able to reach a settlement before the case went to trial. Under the terms of the agreement, the networks agreed to release a public statement clarifying that “Electoral Wizardry, Inc.” is a totally normal, non-magical company that did not use any spells or sorcery to tamper with the election.
Additionally, the networks agreed to air a special episode of their prime time news programs featuring a panel of experts discussing the use of magic in politics. The panel, which includes fake names such as “Gandalf the Grey” and “Hermione Granger,” will explore the history of magic in politics and debate the pros and cons of using magical spells in elections.
When reached for comment, representatives from “Electoral Wizardry, Inc.” expressed relief that the case had been settled out of court.
“We’re happy to put this all behind us and get back to what we do best – using our totally normal, non-magical machines to ensure fair and accurate elections,” one representative said.
As for the networks, they’re just glad that they won’t have to face off against a company that could potentially cast spells on them.
“It’s always a little nerve-wracking when you’re up against a company with ‘wizardry’ in their name,” one news anchor said. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to mess with any magical voting machines.”
