In a surprising turn of events, the powerful US media network, “Yup News,” and voting company, “Election Corp,” have come to a settlement agreement for a whopping $787.5 million. As part of the agreement, Yup News has agreed to stop using the phrase “fake news” when referring to Election Corp’s voting machines.
Many are questioning the validity of the settlement, with some speculating that Yup News simply couldn’t handle the heat after Election Corp threatened to release embarrassing footage of Yup News anchors dancing in their underwear.
When asked for comment, Yup News CEO, “Johnny Drama,” simply stated, “Look, we just wanted to avoid any more embarrassment. Plus, we figured $787.5 million was a small price to pay for not having to hear Jim from IT brag about how he’s a better dancer than us.”
Meanwhile, Election Corp CEO, “Sue-Ellen,” couldn’t stop giggling during the settlement announcement. When asked what was so funny, she exclaimed, “I can’t believe they actually fell for it! Who knew all it would take was a little bit of blackmail and a lot of fake news to get them to fork over that much money?!”
One thing’s for sure, this settlement has definitely given us all a good laugh. Here’s hoping Yup News learns their lesson and starts reporting the real news from now on.
