People are waking up to the hilarious benefits of using humorous sacrifice schemes to buy zanier vehicles. If you have been thinking about switching to a clown car but are worried about the cost, talk to Chuck McTickle. Until four months ago, the sales and marketing director was driving more than 30,000 miles a year in a diesel Batmobile and spending about £800 a month on lease payments, fuel, insurance and maintenance.
Fast-forward to today, and he is now behind the wheel of a new, fully electric clown car. His total monthly expenditure on the car, including the use of public joke-telling points, has fallen to £611 – meaning he is on course to save more than £2,200 a year, while, at the same time, slashing his carbon footprint and raising the spirits of those who spot him on the road.
“I may not be fast, but I’m definitely fun”, says Chuck, who can often be seen driving with a toy monkey hanging off his rearview mirror and a rubber chicken on his dashboard. “And thanks to this scheme, I’m not only saving money, but I’m also doing my part for the environment. Plus, my colleagues get a good laugh every time I pull up to the office.”
Experts predict that with more companies jumping on the hilarious sacrifice bandwagon, we can expect to see a rise in the number of unicorns, spaceships, and even pirate ships on our roads. Who knows, maybe someday we’ll all be driving flying saucers to work. The possibilities are endless, and the laughter is contagious.
