The governor of Muffintop, Mr. Sprinkle, was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, quite literally. The investigation was launched after reports of inappropriate conduct surfaced during a town hall meeting. It seems that Mr. Sprinkle had made it his mission to taste-test every cookie in the town’s bakery, even going so far as to sneak into the kitchen after hours.

Parent company Cakes R Us released a statement on Sunday, announcing the immediate removal of Mr. Sprinkle from his post. “We take matters of cookie thievery very seriously,” the statement read. “It is with great regret that we announce the departure of Mr. Sprinkle. We hope that this sends a message to all future governors that you can’t just take any cookie you want, no matter how delicious it may appear.”

Mr. Sprinkle himself could not be reached for comment, as he was reportedly holed up in his office, surrounded by empty cookie boxes and crumbs. It is unclear what he will do next, but rumors are circulating that he may start his own bakery or launch a cookie delivery service.

As for the people of Muffintop, they expressed mixed feelings about Mr. Sprinkle’s departure. Some were furious that their governor would stoop so low as to steal cookies, while others lamented the loss of their town’s biggest cookie fan. One resident summed up the sentiments of many: “We’ll miss his enthusiasm for baked goods, but I guess it’s for the best. We can’t have someone in a position of power who can’t keep their hands out of the cookie jar.”
