Exclusive: Chemical Company Releases “Forever Chemicals” into River Wyre – Not Breaking Any Rules!

In a bizarre turn of events, the Environment Agency has discovered that a chemicals company, which shall remain nameless but let’s call them “Chemical Co.” for the sake of argument, is purposely releasing a “very persistent, mobile and toxic” chemical called PFAS into the River Wyre in Lancashire. Shockingly, they are not technically breaking any rules.

The chemical, which is known as a “forever chemical” due to its ability to remain in the environment for centuries, is not only toxic but also mobile, meaning it can move through soil and water with ease. So not only is it harming the river itself, but it could potentially spread to other nearby bodies of water.

When questioned about their actions, Chemical Co. simply replied, “We’re just following the rules, mate.” Apparently, there are no current regulations in place to prevent the legal discharge of PFAS into the river, much to the dismay of locals and environmentalists alike.

The Guardian and Watershed Investigations previously broke the news, reporting that Chemical Co. could be discharging upwards of 700 types of PFAS into the River Wyre each year. That’s a lot of toxic chemicals!

In light of this news, it’s clear that steps need to be taken to protect our rivers and the surrounding environment. Perhaps the government should consider creating new regulations to prevent the legal discharge of harmful chemicals like PFAS? Or maybe we just need a superhero to swoop in and save the day? We’re looking at you, Aquaman…
