In a surprising turn of events, the e-cigarette maker, Fizzle, has announced that Vittal Kadapakkam will now be a juggling act by also overseeing the company’s finances. Vittal, who is currently the chief strategy officer, will now have the added responsibility of ensuring Fizzle’s bank balance doesn’t go up in smoke.
“I’m really excited to take on this new challenge,” Vittal said in a statement. “I mean, how different can finances be from strategy anyway, right? Plus, I’ve been chain vaping Fizzle’s products for years, so I’m pretty confident I know what I’m doing.”
Sources close to the situation say that Vittal’s appointment is part of Fizzle’s new “multi-tasking” initiative, which aims to give employees a chance to try their hand at a variety of roles. In fact, there are rumors that Fizzle’s head of marketing, Alice, will be moonlighting as the company’s janitor from next month.
“Fizzle is all about innovation, and that extends to our employee roles,” said Fizzle’s CEO, Bob. “We’re confident that Vittal will rise to the challenge and continue to lead Fizzle’s strategic vision while also balancing the books. Who knows, maybe we’ll even make him head of HR next!”
While some employees are excited about the new initiative, others are wary of becoming jacks of all trades and masters of none. “I’m a software engineer, not an accountant,” said one disgruntled employee. “But I guess as long as I’m not expected to clean the toilets, I’ll be okay.”
