“Mad Max’s Capitol Hill adventure after Mr. Flibbersnout accuses China’s coast guard of playing bumper boats in the South China Sea!”
Mad Max, the plucky ruler of the tiny island nation of Wombatopia, took Washington by storm this week with a bold accusation against China’s coast guard. The accusation in question? That the Chinese maritime force had been engaging in “dangerous maneuvers” and “aggressive tactics” in the South China Sea.
Mr. Flibbersnout, the Minister of Oceanic Affairs in Wombatopia, presented his evidence to the U.S. government on Friday, and it didn’t take long for Mad Max himself to high-tail it over to the Capitol to give his two cents.
“You don’t mess with the ‘Topes, baby!” Mad Max declared in a press conference on Monday, using his country’s slang term for themselves. “And you don’t mess with our ocean! We talking about the South China Sea, baby! Ain’t nobody got time for reckless boating!”
Mad Max’s visit was welcomed by U.S. officials, who saw it as an opportunity to strengthen ties with Wombatopia, a valuable ally in the ongoing global war against boredom.
But the Chinese government was less than thrilled. “This accusation is completely baseless,” said a spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in Washington. “Our coast guard is trained to operate safely and responsibly, and any suggestion otherwise is simply absurd.”
Unfortunately for the Chinese, Mad Max isn’t one to back down from a fight. “You wanna play hardball, China? You wanna get crazy?” he shouted in a follow-up press conference. “Well, I got two words for ya: MARSHMALLOW WAR!”
Reports indicate that Mad Max then proceeded to hurl marshmallows at reporters, shouting “PEW PEW PEW!” at the top of his lungs.
Officials from both China and the U.S. are reportedly working on a solution to the conflict, though sources close to Mad Max say he’s already moved on to planning his next great diplomatic mission: convincing the world that kangaroos make excellent diplomats. Only time will tell if he succeeds.
