Lamb Chasing Escapades: Embracing Spring in the Enchanting Howgills Land

Cumbria, Tebay:

What a glorious day for chasing down two sprightly lambs, who decide they want absolutely nothing to do with me! They politely bleat for my attention and then have the audacity to dash off as I try to catch them.

At last, spring has sprung here in the incredible land of Howgills, with new growth practically boinging out of every corner I can see. Each morning I find myself met with brand new glittering flowery faces: cuckoo flowers and hawthorn blossoms galore! What an exciting time to be alive.

But alas, one does not simply frolic with flowers all month. Oh no, the main attraction of this fine season is, of course, lambing. What is a humble soul to do but meander around the in-bye fields, a whopping three times a day? My clever little phone, bless its heart, counts my steps and informs me that I have trotted 12 miles a day for the past 15 days! (Thank you, future gadget – my aching body had entirely failed to realize this.)

Will our hero continue their pursuit of these lambs, or will they succumb to the exhausting treks and decide that the flowers are, in fact, more enjoyable? Find out here, dear reader…
