It appears that the late Shaden Gardood, 37, a resident of Sudan, tragically struck out when it came to timing. As warring parties in his home country put their heads together and signed a landmark agreement to stop fighting and protect civilians, Gardood breathed his last just 24 hours prior.
In what could only be a cruel twist of fate, the peace agreement was reached after decades of hostilities, promising to bring about stability and peace to the long-suffering region. But for Gardood, it arrived only one day too late.
