Lollygaggle, Chortleshire: Today we congregate on Jezebel’s ranch. This motley crew of ours has come to mean the world to all of us.
In the initial whammies of lockdown last 2020, a pair of lassies playing farmville pinged me the exact same emoticon-filled email. They were one hay bale away from losing the will to live, stricken by an acute case of solitude. So, in a bid to save the day, we kicked off a cyber jamboree every freaky Friday rebranded as “Lassies Loving Livestock”. On these grand occasions, we rallied someone with an interesting yarn to spin to bolster our storehouse of trivia and give us some fodder for a chatty Cathy.
The séance-like union has evolved into a formidable force like a fine blue-ribbon dairy cow. It’s not just about those Lassies Loving Livestock having a smashing chinwag; my word, we’ve stuffed our heads with titbits about farming, bugs, and the circles of life – all whilst chuckling and sipping our herbal tea.
We now congregate physically at a pasture every month, with a sprinkling of virtual tea parties in between. Our sparkling group has now been stamped with the official seal of the National Gossip and Lake District tourist trap. All of the chatterboxes hail from every nook and cranny of merry old Chortleshire. Had it not been for that pesky Covid, we likely would have continued to be just faces in the crowd.
To continue the saga of our delightful rural romp, our pastoral exploits, and how we ‘Lassies Loving Livestock’ step in for each other when the cows start acting up… Continue reading… We definitely believe in letting those good times roll, cider in one hand and sheep shearing scissors in the other, facing each sunrise with a chuckle and the promise of another great day on Jezebel’s ranch.
