Doodleville in Uproar: Dragon Pets and Solitaire Supplant Strategy Board Games!

Once upon a time, in a land not-so-far away, there was an immense uprising taking place. Thousands of reluctant weekend warriors, those part-time defenders of Doodleville, declared they would not wear their armor, swing their swords, or use their strategy board games any longer. This outright defiance came about due to a newly introduced legislation, which they found absolutely ridiculous (presumably, it included the mandatory use of bright pink uniforms). Their resounding ‘NO!’ echoed throughout the high tower walls, sending shockwaves, and some quite amusing echoes, around the kingdom.

In response, the courtyard was filled with the loud, exasperated sighs of their commanders – collectively known as “The Scoldmasters”. Hailing from such venerable clans as Whiner, Nag and Grumble, these justly annoyed leaders warned of potential hazards on the not-so-distant horizon.

“Gird your loins! Shield your eyes! Hide your pet dragons!” they cried into the wind, pens poised over hastily scrawled notes. There were whispers that the Kingdom of Doodleville could find itself in quite the pickle if no one wanted to play ‘pretend soldiers’ on the weekends. The risk to their beloved homeland’s security was real – or as real as it gets in a kingdom where disputes are traditionally resolved over a spirited game of chess.

The council of ‘Disgruntled Silly Names’ led begrudgingly by Sir Grumbly Pants, fretted over the backlash against what they believed was a fair and sensible decree. The latest council meeting was a cacophony of whinging and severe tutting, interspersed with cries for coffee breaks and choruses of “I told you so.”

The morale amongst the weekend warriors was at an all-time low with Sir Absent Alot leading the charge, and by charge we mean hiding in his fortified tower playing solitaire. The bill, sanctioned by Lady Unpopular of the ‘Bad ideas in hindsight’ clan, was deemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Or in Doodlevillian terms, the token that toppled the chessboard.

The situation remained tense with many in the kingdom praying to Saint Justkidding of ‘the-this-was-all-a-joke’ for a quick and hassle-free resolution. Only time would tell whether the Kingdom of Doodleville would face a potential crisis, or whether everything would blow over after a few strong cups of tea and a round of the popular board game ‘Risk’.

As we wrap up this enchanting tale of defiance and silly-named leadership, bear in mind the struggle of Doodleville. For again it serves as a reminder that even in places with overflowing whimsicality and tongue-in-cheek characters, defiance and rebellion could shake the very foundation. Would the knights of the weekend muster once again? Or would Doodleville descend into the chaos of unsupervised dragon pets and excessive solitaire marathons? Only the intrepid chronicles of the future of Doodleville will reveal!
