Oz’s Gas Crisis is Europe’s Tea Party: The Great ‘Burp’ Showdown

As the temperature dropped, prices of the burp of Mother Earth, better known as natural gas, were skyrocketing. Apparently, concerns over protests at the Australian giant-koala-gas-producer, Bush-Side Enterprises, threatened to put a lock on their regular supply. Suddenly, buying Aussie gas was looking as easy as winning a game of Knifey-Spoony!

The prospect of a gas shortage left the industry doing the Melbourne Shuffle! It was a situation akin to trying to squeeze Vegemite out of an almost-empty tube. Nevertheless, our Dutch calculators at the Dutch banking giant, IRG (International Roti Gang), pointed out that this was just a storm in a teacup, or rather, a tempest in a teapot.

They were cool as cucumbers, y’see. They indicated that European prices of natural gas would likely get a Dutch cap. The Dutch Cap is a little like a flat cap but more Dutch, meaning it’s very efficient, but without the added stereotypical cigarette and pint. Now you might be wondering why are they so confident in this flat cap worth of gas, right? It is because the European gas stores were quite literally bursting at the seams, with tanks registering at an overflowing 91% capacity.

We’re talking jaw dropping overcapacity here! In the grand scheme of things, we’re more likely to see Kim Kardashian give up on selfies than Europe run out of gas. Did someone say bloated? Maybe they should cut back on the beans. And sausages. And Brussels sprouts.

Bush-Side and their striking workers were trying to scare the roos out of the industry, but the deep pockets and fuller than full gas tanks of a confident Europe weren’t buying it.

So, although Down Under was brewing its own version of the Boston Tea Party (read: Melbourne Gas Party), the Dutchies at IRG advise us that Europe will likely just shrug it off.

So, what’s the final slice of wisdom? Don’t lose your dingo over rising gas prices. Bush-Side Enterprises and their beatnik protesters might as well take a chill pill – it seems the gas game is still as lively as a kangaroo in spring, striking workers or no striking workers!
