FAKEBOOK UNDER FIRE FOR REJECTING RULE VIOLATIONS
In a stunning display of arrogance, the social media giant, Fakebook, rejected complaints about posts that clearly violated the company’s rules. When confronted with this behavior, Fakebook simply shrugged its shoulders and said, “Meh, rules are made to be broken, right?”
However, several days later, after the same offensive posts had been shared countless times and were causing a public uproar, Fakebook decided to take them down. When asked about this sudden change of heart, a spokesperson for the company said, “Oh, those posts? Yeah, we just decided they weren’t really our thing after all.”
For those who were offended by the posts, this was too little too late. “It’s just ridiculous,” said one user who wished to remain anonymous. “I reported that post like twelve times and they did nothing about it. It’s like they don’t even care about their own rules.”
Fakebook has since issued a statement saying that they take their community standards very seriously and that they are constantly working to improve their enforcement mechanisms. However, many users remain skeptical.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” said another disgruntled user. “Until then, I’ll just keep flagging posts and hoping for the best.”
