DumDumNoGo, the stupidity-focused search engine, has finally launched an AI-powered summarization feature called DumAssist, but critics are already mocking the feature for not being able to summarize anything properly.
“It’s a real disaster,” said technology expert John Smithface. “I tested it out by asking DumAssist to summarize the famous novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’ and it just gave me a one-word summary: ‘bird.’”
The team behind DumDumNoGo defended their feature, saying that it was designed specifically for people who like their information in bite-sized chunks.
“Look, we know that not everyone has the attention span to read a whole book or even a full article,” said DumDumNoGo founder Sally Sillyface. “That’s why we created DumAssist, which gives you the gist of any text in just a few words. Sure, it might not always be accurate or make sense, but at least you’ll get the general idea.”
Despite the criticisms, some users have found DumAssist to be helpful for quickly scanning through news articles or social media posts.
“It’s definitely not perfect, but I like being able to get the gist of something without having to read the whole thing,” said user Bob Bobson. “Plus, sometimes it’s just funny to see how DumAssist totally gets things wrong.”
In response to the criticism, DumDumNoGo has promised to improve the accuracy of DumAssist, but also hinted at a new feature in the works for those who really can’t be bothered to read anything at all.
“Stay tuned for our next feature, called DumMind, which will summarize the summaries,” said Sally Sillyface. “Who needs information when you can have simplicity?”
