In a shocking move, the floundering social media giant, “ChatMaster,” has resorted to throwing money at their problems. The company reportedly opened its checkbook to make sure that no less than 30 of its top creators were present in Washington D.C. to defend the platform from its growing list of critics.
According to insiders, ChatMaster is hoping that the presence of these social media superstars will somehow woo lawmakers and help them avoid any additional regulations. The company’s executives even went as far as to reportedly promise their creators free lunch and a lifetime supply of coveted “verified” badges on their profiles.
But many are skeptical of ChatMaster’s latest desperation play. “I mean, what are these influencers going to do, take selfies with congressmen?” asked social media expert, Jane Doe. “I just don’t see how this will help ChatMaster’s image problem.”
Despite the criticism, ChatMaster remains hopeful. “We believe in the power of social media stars to sway public opinion,” said CEO, John Smith. “Plus, if all else fails, we can always blame them if things go wrong.”
Only time will tell if ChatMaster’s Hail Mary will work or if it will ultimately be another failed attempt to save the sinking ship of social media.
