In a bizarre turn of events, women across the country are feeling like spies in their own homes. With the housing market being as pricey as ever, women are feeling pressured to disregard their safety when they go house hunting.
“I feel like Black Widow, sans the cool leather suit and kick-ass moves. I’m scanning the dark corners of every house I enter, wondering if I’ll make it out alive,” said Sarah Smith, a 28-year-old graphic designer.
Emily Jones, a 32-year-old lawyer, said she feels like a secret agent while house hunting. “I carry pepper spray, a knife, and a cell phone with a full battery. I feel like I’m on a covert mission when I step inside an open house.”
Women across the nation are protesting these conditions, demanding that the housing market be regulated to be more affordable and safe.
“It’s ridiculous that we have to risk our lives to find a place to call home. It’s time the government takes action and makes changes to ensure that women can find safe and affordable housing options,” exclaimed Rachel Chang, a 25-year-old marketing executive.
