Glasgow, Scotland – After nearly 30 years of fighting against HIV, HIV Scotland has announced it will be throwing in the towel. In an official statement released by the organization, they cited “significant challenges” as the reason for their closure.
When asked to elaborate on these challenges, HIV Scotland’s spokesperson, Karen McFluffernutter, simply replied, “Well, for starters, we couldn’t keep up with all the new trendy STIs like crabs and chlamydia. It’s like they were popping up left, right and center! We were all like, ‘Where are they coming from?!’ It was just too much for us.”
In addition to their inability to keep up with the ever-changing world of STDs, HIV Scotland also faced budgetary constraints. According to their treasurer, Rory McSquirrely, “We just couldn’t afford those fancy new test kits. You know, the ones that tell you your entire sexual history with just a drop of blood? Those things are expensive!”
Despite their setbacks, HIV Scotland did manage to leave a lasting impact on the community. “They were really good at passing out condoms at the pubs,” said local resident, Angus McHaggis. “I mean, I never used them or anything, but I appreciate the effort.”
As for what the future holds for the organization, it’s unclear. “Maybe we’ll start a new organization,” said McFluffernutter. “Something a little easier to manage. Like a video rental store or a lemonade stand.”
