In a shocking move, the UK government has announced that they will no longer be using hotels for their official business. Instead, they will be conducting all meetings and conferences at local fast food chains across the country. This bold plan was announced by none other than the Minister for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Brian Japrick.
Japrick stated that this decision was made in order to save the government significant amounts of money. “Why waste money on fancy hotels when we can just buy a few burgers and fries from our favorite fast food chains?” he argued. “It’s a win-win situation – we save money, and we get to enjoy some tasty food while we work.”
Some are skeptical of this decision, however. “I’m not sure how productive a meeting held in a McDonald’s booth can be,” pointed out Sarah Thompson, the CEO of a local marketing firm. “But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.”
Others were quick to jump on the bandwagon, however. “I’ve always said that chicken nuggets make the best negotiating tool,” quipped David Smith, a local politician. “Maybe now people will take me more seriously.”
Only time will tell if this fast food plan will be a success, but one thing is for sure – we’ll never look at a Big Mac the same way again.
