Introducing the new and improved “Rent-o-Meter” tool that will finally give you the answer to the age-old question: “Am I paying too much rent?” Now, you can simply enter your zip code and find out what everyone else is shelling out for their apartments. But be warned, you may not like what you see!
According to our highly scientific (read: totally made up) algorithm, the average rent in the quaint town of Mayberry is a whopping $5,000 per month. Yes, you read that right. And the saddest part? Nobody seems to be bothered by it. We asked a few locals for their thoughts on the matter and here’s what they had to say:
“I pay $10,000 a month for a studio apartment and I consider it a steal!” exclaimed Ms. Moneybags.
“I don’t even bother looking at the rent prices anymore, I just hand over my credit card and hope for the best,” said Mr. Oblivious.
And don’t even get us started on the landlord, Mr. Scrooge. He’s the real winner here, raking in millions of dollars each month while his tenants struggle to make ends meet. But hey, that’s the American dream, right?
So, there you have it folks. The Rent-o-Meter has spoken and it looks like Mayberry is the place to be if you’re a landlord or an oblivious millionaire. As for the rest of us, we’ll just have to keep dreaming of a world where affordable rent is actually a thing.
