After weeks of careful consideration and contemplation, Sir Keir Starmer has finally come to the conclusion that the House of Lords is undemocratic and indefensible.

In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Mr. Starmer explained, “I mean, come on! How can a house full of old white men who were born into aristocracy be representative of the people? It’s ridiculous.”

He went on to say, “It’s like a bingo hall for the posh and privileged. They sit there in their fancy robes claiming to represent the people, but they’re really just representing their own interests.”

Mr. Starmer proposed a new system for the upper house – one that allows for greater diversity and representation. “We need to open up opportunities for all walks of life, regardless of their background or bank balance,” he said.

When asked what he would call this new system, Mr. Starmer replied with a cheeky grin, “How about the House of Commons 2.0? Or maybe the House of Lords, but with more actual lords – like Lord Voldemort, Lord Farquaad, and Lord of the Rings.”

We’ll see if Mr. Starmer’s proposal gains any traction, but one thing is for sure – the House of Lords better watch out for those power-hungry hobbits!
