In a shocking revelation, popular social media influencer, Greg Johnson, has claimed that his account was hacked when a series of bizarre tweets were posted from his handle last night.
Johnson, who boasts a following of over one million online fans, was left reeling after several controversial messages appeared on his timeline, causing a storm of outrage across the internet.
However, despite the serious nature of the comments, the savvy influencer was quick to come up with an explanation.
Speaking to reporters outside his Beverly Hills mansion, Johnson insisted that there was no way he could have made those tweets himself, as he was far too busy drinking champagne and shopping on Rodeo Drive at the time.
“It’s obvious that someone has hacked into my account and is trying to sabotage my career,” he exclaimed, brandishing his iPhone for emphasis. “I mean, why else would I post something like ‘I love cats and hate money!’? It’s ridiculous!”
Fans were quick to rally behind Johnson, with many taking to social media to express their support. Twitter user @lulubelle89 posted, “I stand with Greg! There’s no way he could hate money, have you seen his wardrobe?”
Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to poke fun at the situation. Comedian and fellow influencer, Jen Smith, tweeted, “Maybe I should blame my next hangover on hacking too. Thanks for the inspiration, Greg!”
Despite the drama, Johnson remains upbeat, confident that his fans will see through the prankster’s scheme. “I know my followers are smarter than that,” he stated, before getting back to the important business of updating his perfectly curated Instagram feed.
