There’s a reason why there’s a tulip emoji – it’s because this flower is the queen of the spring! And just like the tulip, my wedding was bloomin’ beautiful. Unfortunately for my husband, I was adamant that our wedding festivities should be held in the comfort of our own home, surrounded by all of our beloved home comforts. But, as we all know, where there’s a will, there’s a way. And where there’s a bride, there’s going to be an afterparty.
Unsurprisingly, our photographer was more interested in the tulips in our garden than in capturing me and my hubby cutting the cake. But when I saw the gorgeous snaps, I realized that the tulips gave our wedding a much-needed touch of class. And those tulips were far more photogenic than my mother-in-law!
Luckily for us, we were able to go on our honeymoon and escape from the chaos of the living room. But I have to admit, I did miss our comfy sofa and cozy throws. Who needs fancy resorts when you have a tulip garden and a Netflix subscription?
So if you’re getting married this spring, take my advice and make tulips the star of your big day. They’re classy, timeless, and it’s impossible to take a bad photo of them. And if you’re really lucky, your afterparty might even feature a tulip-shaped piñata full of candy. Now that’s what I call a bloomin’ good time!
