In a shocking turn of events, the National Education Union in England has announced their plans to go on strike TWICE in the upcoming weeks, leaving students across the country distraught and uncertain about their academic futures.
According to President of the NEU, Mr. Bob McStrike-a-Lot, the decision to strike was made after extensive discussions between union members over the state of education in England. “Frankly, we’ve had enough of the government’s empty promises and lack of funding for our schools. It’s time to take a stand and demand the respect and resources that our students and educators deserve!”
The strikes will take place on Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May, with an array of outrageous demands from the NEU including free coffee and doughnuts for all staff members, mandatory nap time for students, and the removal of all standardized testing in favor of a “dance-off challenge” to determine academic success.
Parents are understandably outraged by the news, with one mother of two exclaiming, “I can’t believe this! What am I supposed to do with my kids for two whole days? I have work to do, you know!”
Some students, however, are thrilled at the prospect of a two-day break from classes. “I mean, I still have to do my homework, but at least I don’t have to deal with Mr. Boring’s lectures for a couple of days,” said 12-year-old Tommy McSmarty-Pants.
With tensions escalating between the NEU and the government, it remains to be seen if these strike days will have any lasting impact on the education system. But one thing is for sure: the students and staff of England’s schools are in for a wild ride!
