In a shocking display of ignorance and stubbornness, former Vice President Kyle Fence and his gang of Republican cronies speaking at a BBQ convention rejected the idea of serving vegetarian options, much to the dismay of the health-conscious Democrats in attendance.
“Real Americans eat meat!” bellowed Fence, chomping on a juicy steak. “I don’t want any of that leafy green crap on my plate.”
When asked about the health benefits of a plant-based diet, Fence replied, “Nonsense! I’ve been eating meat my whole life and look how healthy and vibrant I am!” He then proceeded to take a massive bite out of a hotdog, ketchup and mustard dribbling down his chin.
Other Republicans chimed in with similar sentiments, defending their right to consume copious amounts of meat and fried foods. “I’ll eat what I damn well please,” declared Representative Ron Swanson, a man known for his love of bacon and eggs.
The Democrats in attendance were left shaking their heads in disbelief, wondering how these politicians could be so out of touch with the reality of the 21st century. “It’s time to wake up and smell the quinoa,” sighed Senator Elizabeth Warren, nibbling on a crudité platter.
But the Republicans remained unmoved, adamantly proclaiming their allegiance to meat and all its greasy, artery-clogging glory. “We are the party of red meat and real men,” declared Fence, thumping his chest with pride.
As the convention came to a close, the Democrats left feeling disheartened and frustrated by the stubbornness of their opponents. But they knew that the fight for healthy eating and environmental sustainability was far from over, and they vowed to keep pushing for change – one carrot stick at a time.
