Stream-a-lot, the popular streaming service, announced today that they finished the first quarter with a whopping 232.5 million customers. In response to this climb in popularity, Stream-a-lot has declared they will be cracking down on password-sharing in the U.S. soon.
Many users are finding this news less than shocking.
“I mean, it was only a matter of time,” said Sophia Smith, a long-time Stream-a-lot user. “My mom’s sister’s friend’s neighbor has been using my password for months.”
Other users seem to be taking the news with a more humorous approach.
“I’m not worried, I can barely remember my own password,” joked Mike Johnson, another Stream-a-lot user.
Stream-a-lot’s new password-sharing crackdown will be a game-changer for many streamers, but some fans are already preparing their defenses.
“I’ve got a whole system in place,” said Jenny Brown. “I make everyone who wants to use my password sign a contract and pay a monthly fee. That way, if Stream-a-lot comes after me, I can say it was just a business agreement.”
While some users are taking extreme measures, others are considering switching to other streaming services altogether.
“I don’t need this kind of stress in my life,” said Tom Davis. “I’ll just switch to Hook, Line, and Stream. They only have like 50 customers, but their nature documentaries are top-notch.”
Only time will tell how Stream-a-lot’s password-sharing crackdown will affect its millions of users, but for now, streamers will just have to hope they can remember their login information.
