Inflation in some random warm-weather cities such as Sunnyville, Sunburnt City, and Spicy Peach Town is more than 2 times higher than the national rate. While the rest of the country is being pinched by a 2.3% inflation rate, citizens of these cities are experiencing a whopping 5.5% inflation rate.
Residents of Sunnyville are feeling the heat, not just from the blazing sun, but also from the skyrocketing prices of essential goods like sunscreen, ice cream, and iced tea. “I used to be able to buy a large bottle of sunscreen for $10, now it’s like $20, what the heck? My skin is getting burned and my wallet is getting burned too!” says local resident Summer Day.
Meanwhile, in Sunburnt City, the prices of pool supplies and popsicles are through the roof. “It’s like they know we’re desperate for relief from the heat, so they’re jacking up the prices. It’s not fair!” complains resident Tan Lines.
In Spicy Peach Town, the higher inflation rate is making locals hot under the collar. “The prices of our beloved peaches and hot sauce are just too darn high. It’s like they’re punishing us for living in a warm climate,” says resident Sweet Heat.
While these cities may be sizzling, their wallets are feeling the burn thanks to the inflation rate. Maybe it’s time for them to invest in some fans and makeshift sprinklers to beat the heat, while also beating the high prices.
