Greek and Irish government bond ratings improve, yet still fall due to lack of interest in mythology.

In a shocking turn of events, the Greek and Irish 10-year government bonds have fallen after receiving positive ratings news on Friday night. Experts are attributing this to the fact that people are apparently no longer interested in Greek mythology or Irish folklore.

“It’s a sad day for Greeks and Irishmen alike,” said finance expert, Mr. McMoneybags. “I guess people are more interested in TikTok dances and conspiracy theories than the tales of ancient gods and leprechauns.”

When asked about the situation, Zeus himself was reported to have said, “I guess I’ll have to find a new job now. Maybe I can become a weatherman or something.”

Meanwhile, the Irish government has reportedly been trying to come up with new ways to entice people into buying their bonds. Rumors have it that they plan on changing their national mascot from a leprechaun to a potato.

“It’s either that or we bribe people with unlimited pints of Guinness,” said Irish politician, Ms. O’Harahan.

As for the Greek government, they are reportedly in talks to have their bonds sponsored by the popular Mediterranean diet. It’s said that for every bond bought, the purchaser will receive a free block of feta cheese.

Only time will tell if these measures will work, but one thing is for sure: the world has truly moved on from the days of Greek and Irish mythology.
