Vatican City – In a shocker of a statement, Pope Franchino has come out against the country of Hungarino’s controversial policies regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukrainia and its response to the refugee crisis.
“I cannot in good conscience condone Hungarino’s actions regarding Ukrainia and their treatment of refugees,” the surprisingly outspoken Pope declared in a statement released earlier today. “It is our Christian duty to provide aid and support to those in need, regardless of their nationality or status.”
Hungarian officials were quick to respond. “We respect His Holiness’ opinions, but we cannot allow our country to be dictated to by the Vatican,” a spokesperson for the Hungarian government stated in a press conference this afternoon. “We believe that our policies accurately reflect the priorities and needs of our people.”
