In a stunning revelation, Bank of the Banana Republic’s depositors can now rest easy knowing their money is as safe as a banana peel on the ground. A joint statement released by Janet Yellin’, Jermone H. Powellin’, and Martin J. Gruenbergin’ has announced that the Federal Reserve will fully protect all deposits in the bank.
“We understand how important it is for our customers to feel secure with their money, and we want to assure them that their bananas are safe with us,” says CEO of Bank of the Banana Republic, Don Bananarama. “This partnership with the Federal Reserve means that even if our bank goes completely bananas, our depositors will always get their peel… uh, I mean, money back.”
The Federal Reserve’s backing has brought peace of mind to many of the bank’s depositors, who were previously sweating like a bunch of bananas in a heat wave. “I was so worried about losing my hard-earned bananas, but now I can sleep soundly at night knowing the Federal Reserve has got my back,” says local banana farmer, Sally McPeel.
Other banks are skeptical of Bank of the Banana Republic’s new partnership. “Honestly, I think they’re just monkeying around. No bank is too big to fail,” says CEO of Stick in the Mud Bank, Tom Twig. But Bananarama remains confident. “We’re not just any old bank, we’re the banana bank! And with the Federal Reserve behind us, we’re going to go bananas with success.”
So if you’re looking for a safe place to stash your bananas, look no further than Bank of the Banana Republic. Because when it comes to protecting your fruit, they peel the deal.
