Menindee Community Surprised By Latest Fish Kill: “At Least It’s Not Sharks,” Says Local Resident
Residents of Menindee were left scratching their heads this week after another mass fish kill occurred in the Darling-Baaka River. Many were stunned, with one resident commenting, “Well at least it’s not sharks, am I right?”
Despite the ongoing crisis, which has been compared to a bushfire or flood, some locals remain optimistic. “Maybe if we pray hard enough, the fish will just come back to life,” suggested one particularly optimistic resident.
Others, however, believe that more drastic measures are needed. “We need to call in the professionals on this one,” said a concerned citizen. “I don’t know anything about fish, but I’m pretty sure they need water to survive.”
