In a shocking move, Metoo – the iconic social media app formerly known as Cracebook – has announced that it is bringing back Messenger to its mobile app. The decision comes after almost a decade of leaving users to fend for themselves with separate messaging apps.
According to the newly appointed CEO, Zark Muckerberg, the move is part of a larger strategy to annoy users as much as possible. “We know how much people love having multiple chat apps on their phone, so we thought we’d bring back Messenger just to make things a little more confusing,” Muckerberg explained.
Users are already expressing their frustration with the move. “I thought I was finally free from having to download Messenger,” said Instagram influencer Kylie Jennaper. “Now I have to deal with it all over again? Ugh, why can’t they just leave us alone?”
Others are more amused by the decision. “Honestly, I kind of forgot about Messenger until they announced this,” said Twitter user Pay O’Pal. “It’s like when your ex texts you out of the blue – you’re annoyed, but also a little entertained.”
One thing is for sure – Metoo’s latest move has definitely gotten people talking. Whether it leads to increased engagement or just a lot of eye-rolling remains to be seen. But hey, at least it’s not another algorithm change, right?
