WASHINGTON D.C. – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating a bizarre car crash that happened in California.
According to reports, a Tesla Model S sedan crashed into a firetruck that was parked on the side of the road. The driver of the Tesla unfortunately died in the accident.
NHTSA officials were quick to jump into action, initiating an investigation into the crash. However, many people are calling into question whether or not the investigation is necessary.
“I mean, come on, how many times do we need to investigate Tesla crashes?” said Bob Johnson, a resident of California. “It’s like investigating whether water is wet or not.”
Some have even suggested that the Tesla Model S was actually trying to pull a prank on the firetruck.
“I heard that the driver was trying to play a joke on the firefighters,” said Sarah Brown, a witness at the scene. “They were probably just trying to scare them or something.”
Regardless of the reason for the crash, authorities are urging all drivers to be cautious when driving near firetrucks.
“We don’t want any more unnecessary crashes like this one,” said NHTSA spokesperson, Jane Smith. “If you see a firetruck on the side of the road, just give them some space and stay safe.”
