In a shocking turn of events, the President of France, Pierre LeBaguette, has canceled his upcoming trip to Brussels due to protests over his beloved pension plan. The trip, which was supposed to be a delightful excursion filled with sightseeing and diplomatic negotiations, was unfortunately derailed by the angry French citizens.
LeBaguette, speaking from his luxurious palace in Paris, expressed deep sadness over having to cancel the trip. “I was really looking forward to going to Brussels,” he lamented. “But when you’re the President of France, you have to put the needs of your citizens first.”
The citizens, however, were not so understanding. They expressed their outrage over LeBaguette’s proposed pension plan, which would allow him to retire at the ripe old age of 32 with a pension of 10 million francs per year. “It’s outrageous!” exclaimed François Croissant, a local baker. “We work our whole lives, and this guy wants to retire before he even hits middle age? No way!”
Protesters took to the streets with signs reading “LeBaguette: Retire at 32? Not on our croissants!” and “Save our pensions, save our pastries!” The President’s security team advised him not to risk his safety by traveling to Brussels in the midst of such turmoil.
Despite the disappointment, LeBaguette is optimistic about finding a solution. “We will find a way to make everyone happy,” he promised. “After all, France is known for its compromise and diplomacy.”
For now, the President will have to postpone his sightseeing and diplomatic negotiations in Brussels. Perhaps he will spend his extra time sampling croissants and chatting with disgruntled pensioners, in the name of compromise and diplomacy.
