After years of anticipation, HBO has finally released their adaptation of the beloved video game “Zombie Apocalypse”. And let me tell you, it’s nothing like “The Walking Dead”.
Instead of following Rick Grimes and his band of survivors, we are introduced to Steve Johnson and his group of misfits as they navigate a world overrun by zombies.
But don’t worry, the show still includes all the classic zombie apocalypse tropes – running from hordes of zombies, fighting off bandits, and scavenging for supplies.
One of the highlights of the show is the character of Dave, played brilliantly by Dave Davidson. Dave is the comedic relief of the group, always making jokes to lighten the mood even in the darkest of situations. For example, when the group is being chased by zombies through an abandoned mall, Dave quips “At least we can finally get those new sneakers we always wanted!”
But don’t think that “Zombie Apocalypse” is all fun and games. There are plenty of emotional moments too, like when Sarah, played by Sarah Smith, has to put down her zombified sister. It’s a gut-wrenching scene that really pulls at the heartstrings.
Overall, HBO’s “Zombie Apocalypse” is a refreshing take on the zombie genre. It’s not afraid to take risks and try new things, and that’s what sets it apart from “The Walking Dead”. So grab your baseball bat and join Steve, Dave, Sarah, and the rest of the gang as they try to survive in a world gone mad.
