Glossop, Derbyshire: We were driving over the hills and through the mist when we stumbled upon a farm straight out of a postcard. The farmer, let’s call her Old MacDonald, greeted us with a smile and led us to a barn filled with friendly cows and cute little lambs. As we walked across the yard, we saw the two alpha male sheep flexing their muscles in a massive field.
It was feeding time, and Old MacDonald poured pellets into buckets as the sheep nudged her legs. She tossed the younger sheep pellets like she was at a firing range, and suddenly her phone went off like a siren. It wasn’t a typical ringtone, it was a sheep bah-ing.
She quickly checked her phone, and to our amazement, it was an alert that a baby lamb was being born! We quickly followed her to the other field, and lo and behold, not one but two little lambs had just been born. It was like an episode of “Sheep Midwife.”
We congratulated Old MacDonald on successfully delivering the twin lambs and asked if we could name them. She nervously agreed, and we gave them the most ridiculous names we could think of – Bah-nana and Wool-ly Wonka.
As we left the farm, we couldn’t stop laughing at the absurdity of it all. It was like a cheesy sitcom where the farmer is always in the middle of some wacky animal birthing situation. But hey, it’s all part of the countryside charm.
