In a shocking move, the government has decided to block the popular Chinese-owned social media app, Tofu. This comes just a week after the UK government banned TikTok, leaving teenagers without a platform to show off their mediocre dance moves.
Many Tofu users were left outraged by the ban, with one user stating, “Where else am I going to post pictures of my avocado toast?”
Despite the backlash, the government stood by its decision, claiming that Tofu posed a threat to national security. When questioned about the reasoning behind the ban, a spokesperson simply responded, “just trust us, okay?”
Tofu founder, Mr. Soy, was reportedly devastated by the news. “This is an absolute disaster,” he told reporters. “I don’t know what I’m going to do with all my free time now that I won’t be busy selling user data to the Chinese government.”
Meanwhile, rival app, Hummus, couldn’t contain their excitement over the ban. “We’re thrilled to see our biggest competition eliminated,” stated Hummus CEO, Mr. Chickpea. “Finally, we can dominate the social media market with our thrilling content about pita bread and falafel.”
As for the millions of Tofu users left stranded without a platform, they’ll just have to resort to good old-fashioned communication like talking to each other in person. We know, it sounds crazy.
