In a shocking turn of events, the small town of Wakanda was brought to a standstill when the employees of its only factory decided to go on a 24-hour walkout. The strike, which was one of the largest the town has experienced in decades, left the locals scratching their heads in confusion.
“Who knew that our little factory could cause such chaos?” exclaimed local resident and self-proclaimed conspiracy theorist, Bob Johnson. “I mean, we haven’t seen this kind of action since the great toilet paper shortage of ’86.”
The workers, who have decided to remain anonymous, are demanding better working conditions, higher wages, and an end to the company’s policy of feeding them nothing but broccoli for lunch. In a statement released to the press, the workers stated, “We’re tired of being treated like vegetables. We want to be treated like the hardworking, intelligent human beings that we are.”
The factory owner, Mr. Smith, was not available for comment, but his secretary, Ms. Jones, had this to say, “Mr. Smith is out of the country on business, but he sends his condolences to the workers. He also reminds them that broccoli is a superfood.”
As the day wore on, tensions grew between the strikers and the non-striking locals. The strikers were seen holding signs with such slogans as “No Broccoli, No Work” and “Broccoli: The Silent Killer.” The non-strikers, on the other hand, were heard muttering things like, “Who do they think they are, demanding better conditions?
