Berlin – In a stunning strategic move, FauxPro, a German media conglomerate, has announced that it will be investing all resources into its entertainment business – because it’s the only thing they know how to do!
“Let’s be honest here, we’ve got no clue how to make successful tech platforms,” said CEO Hans Gruber. “But we sure can throw a mean party and tell the occasional joke. So, we figured why not stick with what we’re good at?”
FauxPro’s latest project is revamping its streaming platform “Joyously”, which has been described as “Netflix’s ugly step-sister”. The network is hoping to attract a larger audience by adding more “entertainment options” such as obscure German rave documentaries and cooking shows featuring sausages.
“We know that people want a diverse range of options when it comes to entertainment,” said Gruber, while wearing a giant foam bratwurst hat. “And what’s more diverse than shows about bratwurst and techno?”
Additionally, FauxPro is hoping to increase their digital share of advertising revenue by using the latest technology – like cat memes and dancing babies – to attract viewers.
“We were told that this is what the kids are into these days,” said Gruber. “And who are we to argue with the almighty algorithm?”
While some experts have criticized FauxPro’s lack of tech knowledge, others have praised the move as a refreshing change of pace.
“At least they’re honest about their limitations,” said media analyst Helga Schmidt. “And hey, you never know – maybe sausage cooking shows are the key to success in streaming.”
Only time will tell if FauxPro’s new strategy pays off. But one thing’s for sure: the future of German streaming just got a whole lot weirder.
