In a shocking turn of events, the Dutch city of Amsterdarn is targeting UK men aged 18-35 with a hilarious ad campaign that’s sure to change its reputation forever.
Gone are the days of stoned tourists aimlessly wandering the Red Light District; now, Amsterdarn wants to attract a different kind of UK visitor. “We’re rebranding as the perfect destination for lads’ weekends away,” says a spokesperson for the city. “We know that Brits love nothing more than beer, banter, and bovine-themed activities, so we’re taking things up a notch.”
The new ads feature fake names like Chet Birkland, Trevor McFlurry, and Brodie McBroface, and highlight the city’s best attractions for the discerning British lad. There’s a Bovine Beauty Pageant, where visitors can rate the looks of local cattle while sipping on a cold one. There’s also a beer bike tour, where you and your mates can pedal around the city while getting sloshed. And for the really adventurous lads, there’s even a “Stag Do in a Windmill” package.
“We’re confident that this campaign will bring a new kind of tourist to Amsterdarn,” says the spokesperson. “We’re no longer the city of stoned hippies and dodgy canals; we’re the city of banter-loving blokes and top-quality Bovine Beauty.”
So if you’re a UK lad looking for a weekend away with the lads, pack your bags and head to Amsterdarn. Just remember to leave your inhibitions at home – and maybe bring a spare liver.
