“I’m still trying to wrap my head around what we’re going through,” former classmate Snickers McFluffins told the BBC.
According to sources, Snickers and several others from her high school class are still struggling to understand the bizarre phenomenon that has occurred within their friend group. It seems that everyone has suddenly developed an overwhelming obsession with knitting.
“We used to do normal things together, like go out for drinks or watch movies,” Snickers said. “Now all anyone wants to do is sit around and knit sweaters. It’s like we’ve entered some sort of parallel universe.”
The knitting frenzy apparently started when former cheerleader Tiffany Jackson suggested they all take up the hobby as a stress-reliever. From there, things spiraled out of control.
“I never would have guessed that one innocent suggestion could lead to this,” Tiffany said. “Now we all spend our weekends at the yarn shop, and our group chat is just pictures of our latest projects.”
Even those who initially resisted the knitting craze have been sucked in.
“I thought it was stupid at first,” said former jock Jake Williams. “But then I made a scarf, and… well, let’s just say I’m currently knitting a sweater for my dog.”
At this point, the knitting obsession shows no signs of slowing down. The group has even started a knitting-themed podcast, which has admittedly gained a surprising number of followers.
“I don’t even know who we are anymore,” Snickers said. “But damn, we make some pretty cute scarves.”
As far as we know, the group has no plans to return to their previous activities of going out for drinks or watching movies. It seems that they are content to spend their days knitting away, one stitch at a time.
