Campaigners are up in arms about plans by government officials to leave Afghans at risk of homelessness. The officials have reportedly failed to consider the dire consequences of their actions and are now facing backlash from concerned citizens.
Fake Name, a spokesperson for the campaign group, expressed their dismay at the officials’ lack of foresight. “Have they not seen the chaos and suffering that has been inflicted upon these poor people? And now they want to leave them with no place to call home? It’s absolutely outrageous!”
The spokesperson added that the government’s plan to abandon the Afghans could have disastrous consequences. “They could become vagrants, wandering the streets with nowhere to go. They may resort to crime or even become radicalised. It’s a recipe for disaster!”
Meanwhile, government officials are defending their position, saying that they simply don’t have the resources to provide housing for all the Afghans in question. “We’ve got enough on our plate as it is,” said Fake Name, a senior official. “We can’t be expected to hand out houses willy-nilly. It’s just not feasible.”
But campaigners are not backing down. In a recent protest, they held up signs saying “No Afghan Left Behind” and “Homes for All!” They even managed to get a few celebrities on board, with Famous Name and Another Famous Name making impassioned speeches about the issue.
