From being first in the queue to being the master of disguise, here are some hilarious tips on how to get ahead in the rental race, brought to you by rental expert, Bob the Builder (not really).
1. Always be first in the queue: Make sure you line up outside the rental property hours before the open house, bring a tent and camping gear to ensure your position as first in line. Bonus points if you bring snacks for your fellow queue-mates.
2. Be flexible: Literally. Pretend you have no bones and contort yourself into a human pretzel to fit into any awkwardly shaped rental property. Bonus points if you can yoga-pretzel your whole family into the rental.
3. Bribery: Offer the real estate agent an endless supply of cupcakes, freshly baked each morning, in exchange for the rental property. Bonus points if you get creative with the cupcake flavors (bacon and cheese cupcakes anyone?)
4. Social media stalking: Follow the real estate agent on all social media channels, comment and like every post, and add them as a friend on Facebook. Bonus points if you can casually slip in your rental application in a DM.
5. Wear a disguise: Dress up as a potted plant or a lampshade to blend in with the rental property and hide from other potential tenants. Bonus points if you can convince the landlord you are part of the furniture.
With these top tips, you will be sure to secure your dream rental property in no time. Or else just give up and buy a tent.
