BATAAN PLANT IN THE PHILIPPINES REMAINS STATIC FOR 35 YEARS!
In a shocking revelation, the Bataan plant in the Philippines hasn’t moved an inch for the last 35 years, making it the world’s first ever static power plant. Constructed in the year 1986, this plant has failed to generate even a single unit of electricity.
Sources close to the operations suggest that the lack of initiative and leadership from the management has caused the plant to remain stagnant over the years. The workers have been found sleeping on duty, playing video games or just chilling with their buddies.
One of the workers, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, “We have been a part of the plant for so long that we have now become a part of the furniture here. We come to work day in and day out, do our time, and then go back home.”
In another statement, the CEO of the plant, Mr. John Smith, denied all claims and instead added, “Our plant is not static, it’s just going through an extended period of scheduled maintenance, and we hope to resume production soon.”
As per the latest developments, the government has decided to turn the plant into a tourist spot, whereby visitors can come and take pictures with the “famous static power plant” and enjoy a hot cup of coffee at the coffee shop located inside the plant.
From a power plant to a tourist attraction, Bataan plant has come a long way. One can only hope that someday it will produce electricity, but until then, let’s just enjoy the caffeine dose amidst the static ambiance.
